Know what your prescription costs before you leave the exam room.

Julia checks any medication against your insurance plan while you're still with your doctor — so you can pick a covered option together, then find the pharmacy that fills it for less.

Which insurance do you have?
One email the day your plan comes online, and nothing else. Free. Your employer and insurer tell us which plans to load first — and which companies to bring Julia to.

The problem

No surprises at the pharmacy counter. Know what you'll pay from the moment your doctor prescribes it.

Your doctor doesn't see what your insurance covers. The insurer doesn't call to warn you. Julia covers and tracks your meds seamlessly — and when you switch insurance plans, we'll help you through it without you needing to download anything new.

What Julia does

Three things, done properly.

01 · Coverage check

Look any drug up against your plan — in the room with your doctor.

Julia reads your plan's formulary so you can see tier, prior-auth requirements, and your real out-of-pocket cost the moment a medication is mentioned. If it's expensive, you'll see the covered alternatives in the same drug class.

✓Hand your doctor the answer, not a question
✓They can prescribe the alternative on the spot, or start the prior auth knowing it's needed
✓Works with any commercial plan — no integration with the clinic required

02 · Medication tracking

Every medication, dose, and refill in one place.

Keep your full medication list current, log doses, and get refill reminders before you run out. When you switch to a covered alternative, Julia updates the plan so nothing slips.

Tell us your pharmacy. We'll tell you if there's a better one.

Enter where you fill today and Julia checks whether that price is the best available near you. For specialty medications, we flag when a retail pharmacy can't fill it and point you to one that can — ranked by price and distance.

How it works

Set up once. Use it at every appointment.

1

Add your insurance

Your provider and a couple of numbers from your card. Julia loads your plan's formulary and cost tiers.

2 minutes
2

Look it up at the appointment

When a medication comes up, search it. See cost, prior-auth flags, and covered alternatives while your doctor is still in the room.

Under 10 seconds
3

Pick the pharmacy that fills it for less

Enter your pharmacy. Julia confirms the price or suggests a closer, cheaper, or specialty-capable one, then tracks the medication from there.

In practice

Three things you'd find out before the counter.

Real drugs, typical commercial plans. Your numbers depend on your plan.
$1,290 → $12

Your doctor prescribes Nurtec for migraines. Julia shows it needs approval and lists at $1,290 — and that sumatriptan, covered at $12, treats the same attacks. You and your doctor decide in the room, not at the counter.

Nurtec ODT vs. sumatriptan
Approval required → covered generic

A biologic for Crohn's typically waits on approval paperwork. Julia flags it the day it's prescribed, tells you what your doctor's office needs to send, and tracks the request so the delay doesn't become a surprise.

Biologics (e.g. Humira, Skyrizi)
Approval required → tracked from day one
$0 copay

Ozempic is approved — but the pharmacy nearest you quotes $95 while another in your network fills it for $25, and a manufacturer card takes it to $0. Julia surfaces all three before you choose where to fill.

Why we're building Julia

You did everything right. You saw the doctor, you got the prescription, you pay your premiums. The last step — actually getting your medication — shouldn't be the one that breaks you.

We built Julia because we hit this wall ourselves. A prescription we needed, an approval nobody warned us about, and weeks of calls, forum threads and guesswork to learn how the system actually works.

Once we understood it, the process turned out to be knowable — just hidden. Julia is that research, done once and turned into something anyone can use, so you get the same access without having to become an expert first.
